Just a shot in the dark, but I think when many of us play high we pinch the center of our lips together tighter to get a smaller aperture, thereby releasing tension just outside the very center of the lips. We also push with more air pressure resulting in the air pushing itself behind the lips into the weaker muscle areas and causing bubbles.
