As far as I know, you can't fit an Eb extension onto the old Paxman Model 40 - maybe you can on the current model. Remember, it is the same length of tubing as the first valve slide on the F alto side, and that extra tubing has to be inserted somewhere into the F alto side main tubing.

I got my F extension from Tony Halstead (http://www.halsteadmusic.co.uk/) after waiting some time for him to locate one. I believe there were several different designs.

As per my post above, any F extension for a Paxman single Bb should work in the old Model 40 - provided the A/stopping valve is AFTER the main valve block (which is not the case in the current Model 40).
