Opinions on whiskeying the horn

What are your opinions and stories about putting whiskey inside the horn. I have heard if you coat the inside of your horn with a shot of whiskey it helps to make the sound more even and just takes that edge off making it a little more mellow.

What do you gentlemen and ladies think?
Anyone know of any studies done?
(And dont' bring up that blue goo stuff).
