So David Pyatt is leaving the LSO and going to join John Ryan as the other of the LPO's two Principal Horns. A full section in a London orchestra is a rare treat.

There needs to be an online guess/bet about who the LSO's new Principal Horn will be.

My first bet is on Margaretha Grietje De Jong.

Am I too old to be considered? On a good day I'm almost mediocre...

err...umm.. YES
Apparently the LSO will soon be trialling a superbly talented young lady player from Uzbekistan, Sharona Mushjtelian, who aged 12 played the Mahler no 5 solo (with piano accompaniment ) as a tribute to the late Saddam Hussein a mere 50 minutes before he 'went underground' only to be discovered and then a few months later summarily executed before any appeal was possible.
Ms Mushjtelian clearly has a lot to 'live up to' - but apparently her 'saving grace' is that she plays a PHC 23A / AS mouthpiece. :D
