Does anyone know who was the solo horn in the 2001 film, Iris? Music by James Horner, recorded at Abby Rd Studios.

I'm just curious.

I do know what the answer is, and I will post it on Friday morning (sorry Neil - hope you don't mind waiting that long...!)

OK. First things first. The person responsible for the wonderful playing on the soundtrack to Iris was David Pyatt.

Second things second. I was able to answer that without being one of the players who were there and playing on it. (Not least because, as even a cursory listening would reveal, there was only one horn on it anyway.)

David Pyatt? I am very surprised. It didn't sound like him at all. It was more a Jim Thatcher + Conn 8D kind of sound. Amazing!

Thanks Tim

Could the moderators please ensure that 'code language' is banned from this forum? :geek:

Having ears that are able to discern the prescence of a single horn doesn't automatically give you the player's name.
Where do you get your information from, Another Tim?

That has been done as suggested.

The only other messages ever to have been deleted from this new forum were links to porn sites so please switch off the paranoia alarm. WAlan has not made a single positive or useful posting on this forum.

I don't think our normally 'on-the-ball' and often thought-provoking board member
'Observer' will be too happy that his/her recent message (deleted) has evedintly been judged to be in the 'porn' box :o

From David himself.

P.S. Glad to be of service, Neil.

Dear Karlevin (tax inspector), Observer's posting was a sensible observation about people getting quickly annoyed and was directly related to the confusion and irritation caused by the rogue and irrelevant message of one WAlan.

Please feel free to continue using this free to use horn forum. Can you confirm that I can claim the cost of running this forum as a legitimate expense on my tax return? Thank you.
