This looks very interesting, maybe its 'only for anoraks'? Why on earth would you use french piston valves on a Vienna Horn? http://www.halsteadmusic.co.uk/shop/pro ... cts_id=825 Who is 'Andrew Fiske'? Is he a well known player who*, in my ignorance, I haven't heard of? ( I''m sure he hasn't heard of me) * Ok all you pedants out there, is it 'who' or 'whom' in this context? |

"Whom". Andrew Fiske was a horn-player and teacher active about 30 - 40 years ago, I believe, in the London area. He taught Ted Chance at the Watford School of Music. Ted would know more. |

What an excellent modification and in an era when the thin weedy (but beautiful) sound of a small bore piston horn was all the rage. Was he in a BBC orchestra at one time? Ask Halstead. |
