This looks very interesting, maybe its 'only for anoraks'? ;) Why on earth would you use french piston valves on a Vienna Horn?

Who is 'Andrew Fiske'? Is he a well known player who*, in my ignorance, I haven't heard of? ( I''m sure he hasn't heard of me)

* Ok all you pedants out there, is it 'who' or 'whom' in this context? :?

"Whom".

Andrew Fiske was a horn-player and teacher active about 30 - 40 years ago, I believe, in the London area. He taught Ted Chance at the Watford School of Music.

Ted would know more.

What an excellent modification and in an era when the thin weedy (but beautiful) sound of a small bore piston horn was all the rage. Was he in a BBC orchestra at one time? Ask Halstead. :ugeek:
