I used to have an old (50s) Rover. The handbook, written in the dignified prose of the time, had a list of faults and their likely causes. For some of them the cause was listed as 'the responsibility of the driver'. Most horn malfuntions seem to be of this sort.

Now you're talking! Having owned several old Rovers over the years I know what you mean about the handbooks.

And yes, we probably worry far too much about instruments, mouthpieces etc. and fail to recognise 'the responsibility of the driver.' I suppose a modern equivalent is the user error acronym in the computer world PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair). In my case it is definitely PEBMAC. :)

"I'm thinking of trading in my yellow brass, Paxman 20M for a yellow 20L and, rather than faffing about with selling and then buying, I just wondered if there might be someone out there interested in making some kind of a swap?"

How did this work out JonE? Have you been able to find a horn to swap?

Sorry I didn't reply to your question sooner Will. I have only just discovered it. I actually just popped by to thank the two Tonys for creating a place where I could place such an ad as a successful swap has now been made and both of us involved are extremely happy.

Thanks again!
