This rather implausible advert is currently on 'Craigslist' :

london.craigslist.co.uk/msg/2689345678.html

where the 'seller' makes this statement as to its provenance:
"This horn has been used professionally for its entire life and has had two owners the first of which was Frank Lloyd.

The current owner has used this horn to play with the Malaysian Philharmonic, Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC NOW, WNO, Northern Ballet, BBC Scotland, RSNO, Opera North and others.

This is a rare horn to appear on the 2nd hand market and a popular choice among professionals.

Nigel Black, Principal of the Philharmonia orchestra uses a Descant horn by Paxman as do many of his contemporaries."

Can anybody think of a player who has played with all those orchestras?
Would that player really be asking only £1,500 for this horn?

The above advert is DEFINITELY a scam.
The horn was advertised a few years ago on ebay by a player now resident in Borneo, but it didn't sell and the horn is currently in Borneo.
Obviously the scammer  copied that advert, saved it, and put it up fraudulently on Craigslist for a silly price.
Beware and avoid! :!:

Here's ANOTHER scam/ hoax horn, this time a Schmid Triple, on 'Craigslist':

http://london.craigslist.co.uk/msg/2669756008.html

Does anybody actually believe in, and try to buy these fraudulent things that don't exist?

I responded to the ad mentioned in GH's first post, asking where the item was located and whether I could come and try it.

Very strangely, I have received no reply.

I suppose the advertiser expected someone just to ask where they should send the money.
