If there are any composers out there with a link to Glasgow's West End, then this competition may be of interest to you...


The West End Festival and The Cottier Chamber Festival are once again inviting submissions for the Composition Competition, this time to be performed as part of a concert given by Alba Brass.

Submissions should be of around 7 mins in length, for brass quintet (2 trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba). Scores should be submitted to the West End Festival office (The White House, Dowanhill Park, 50 Havelock Street, Glasgow) by 5pm on April 20th, with the winning composer to provide parts.

Pieces do not need to have any specific link to the West End, though composers must submit a paragraph explaining their own link with the area.
